WHO ARE WE?

Yoga Dama was born from an authentic passion for yoga, a practice that has deeply impacted the lives of both Lily and Zoe, who have been best friends for many years and are both proud to call Montauk home. With a commitment to spreading the wisdom and ancient traditions of yoga, they are excited and inspired to offer this beautiful practice to others. Their goal is to create a welcoming, supportive sangha, or community, where students can experience the profound benefits of yoga, whether they’re new to the practice or seasoned practitioners. Lily and Zoe’s mission is to inspire others to embrace yoga in a way that feels comfortable and natural, taking whatever the need from the practice. As they continue to grow Yoga Dama, they are excited to expand their offerings by hosting yoga retreats, providing even more opportunities for people to deepen their practice, connect with like-minded individuals and take care of themselves in serene and transformative settings.

LILY MCGINTEE

Lily was born and raised in Springs, New York, a quaint, sunny corner of the Hamptons. Her journey with yoga began when she was only 15 years old when she was hired at Mandala Center for Healing Arts, a local studio in Amagansett. One of the major perks of her job allowed her unlimited access to yoga classes and workshops with some amazing teachers. Lily later attended the University of Vermont, where she studied Integrative Healthcare and learned about alternative healing modalities. It was through her education that she became interested in an individual's power to heal themselves through practices such as yoga, meditation, and nutrition. In 2018, she completed her first Yoga Teacher Training at the University of Vermont. After graduation, Lily returned to her roots in 2021 and continued her yoga education at Mandala with the same wonderful teachers who first introduced her to the practice.

Lily’s teaching style weaves together breathwork, asana, and philosophy in a fluid, rhythmic sequence, helping students cultivate stillness within their minds. Now based in Portland, Maine, she teaches weekly yoga classes and philosophy workshops. Whenever she can, Lily travels to Montauk and Puerto Rico to lead retreats and workshops alongside her best friend, Zoe Pearl.

ZOE  DAUNT

Zoe grew up in Montauk, and first practiced Sivananda yoga in 2016 on a trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. In early 2023, she returned to Mexico to complete her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Maha Shanti School of Yoga in Isla Mujeres. Under the direction of Lal Maharajh, she trained in traditional Sivananda yoga, with an emphasis on adjustments for the classic asanas. Her teaching style is playful and musical, and includes breathwork and voice activation.

Zoe recently completed a 3-month work study at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch, deepening her spiritual practice and expanding her teaching experience. During her time there she led the kitchen team, developing a "cookbook" of delicious ayurvedic recipes that she prepares at our retreats. She also plays the harmonium and leads regular kirtan (devotional singing) circles and workshops.

“If you want to experience an inward journey of discovery and a chance to get in touch with what is truly important, definitely take a Yoga Dama retreat with these two amazing teachers! You will be very happy that you did!!”
